Fish Spring Rolls




Fish is a very good source of protein which is essential to our body. Instead of using pork, we may use fish meat. Less expensive fish maybe used. First, sauté garlic, onions, and fish meat. Then mix the sautéed fish flakes with minced carrots, kinchay, well beaten eggs, salt, and pepper. A spoonful of fish filling should be placed in a lumpia wrapper, rolled and sealed. Then it is ready for deep frying. Put the lumpia in a platter with paper to lessen the oil. It is now ready to eat.

Grill Party of Bangus




Dacupan City , Philippines – Famous for its bangus. This two-week festival will end on May 4, 2008. They have lots of activities like street dancing, battle of bands, 101 ways to cook bangus, and the most awaited is the Kalutan ed Dalan in which, the city display the longest grill party of bangus to about 2,200 meter grill. Wow!

Let me give you a kinilaw today. I really miss kinilaw, I’ve been longing for Filipino foods for a long time. Kinilaw is a raw fish made with main ingredient of vinegar to take away the transformation of rawness because of the sourness. Most Filipinos love to eat this style of cuisine; it is just like Japanese sushi. But kinilaw is marinated with vinegar, chili pepper and other spices.
