This is, I think, a foreign dish that captured the taste of the Filipinos. I don’t know if this dish is from Turkey or from the Middle East, all I know is that I was ate this dish when I was in the Philippines the other year. It was my older sister who bought my first shawarma and the my reaction after taking my first bite is that “whew! This dish is so HOT!”. And I meant that both literally and figuratively. But nevertheless, like my older sister, I really liked the taste of this dish. And I’m now searching for restos here in the US that offers this kind of dish.
