Empanada ala Ilocano

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Empanada is everywhere. It is sold in bakeshops or food shops. It is like a small pie stuffed with beef or chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, and a lot more. The empanada ala Ilocano style is almost the same with empanada sold in the market. They have the same filling only that its is larger than the regular empanada, dough is orange in color, they use longganisa, and the finale before sealing the dough they add fresh eggs and deep fry it. Best paired with local vinegar and of course very cold soft drinks.
