Homemade Bangus Sardines

Sunday, July 13, 2008

There are many brands of sardines nowadays, but if you want sardines that will really fit your taste, you can make sardines using the bangus or milkfish. We first clean the bangus by removing its gills and intestines. Then cut it into serving pieces. One kilo of bangus will yield 6 to 8 pieces. We arrange the bangus pieces in the bottom of pressure cooker. Add all other ingredients like tomato sauce, cooking oil, water, iodized salt, laurel leaves, black pepper corn and chili pepper. We may use corn oil if we intend to keep it in the refrigerator to prevent oil from solidifying. Then we cook it for 45 minutes. There, you have your homemade sardines
